058: Be Someone to YOU

I talk about priorities a lot.

I talk about living according to those priorities even more.

But as I’ve been doing that, I’ve heard back from a lot of women that it isn’t easy to define your priorities and it’s even harder to live according to them because so many other things are constantly pulling us away from what we are doing.

Believe me, I hear you!

One of the things that started me on the path of the hardest depression period of my life, was being in all the situations you’re describing.  Trying to take care of those I love most in this world and not having any energy left for what I needed.

As I began to get help to get out of that dark time, and feeling like the depression was under control, I started wanting my life back.

As I studied and tried new things, some worked, some didn’t, and continued the learning and applying process, I found a system of things that helped me defined my priorities, get the strength to live according to those priorities while learning to love exactly who I was in the whole process.

That is what I now call the Uniquee Connection Method.

I use it every day.

Even all these years later.

When I stop using the systems of Uniquee Connection, I begin to feel off until I start back up again.

These systems not only apply to coming out of depression, I have taught them to many women who are going through transitions of all kinds, during all the varied seasons of life.

Retirement.

Caring for sick parents.

Empty Nesters.

Change of employment.

Young Moms

If I was to be completely honest, I am amazed at how they apply to so many different transitions from season to season of these women’s lives.

I’m excited to tell you that the Uniquee Connection Method program is beginning again on September 2, 2022.  All the details are on the Hunkeedori.com website.  There’s even a video there where I tell you all of my favorite parts and how they will help you.

The Uniquee Connection Method will not only help you discover your priorities, I will help you create your life so that you are living according to those priorities.  You’ll find your voice again as you are able to say yes to what you truly want to do and the power to say no to what doesn’t fit anymore.  I’ll help you remove the things you spend your time on that don’t serve you any more and focus on what YOU want to attract into your life.  Each lesson builds on another until you connect with your TIME, your LIFE and as I said earlier, the most important connection, your SELF.  I’d love to have you in this program.  What I love most about it is that once the program ends, you have what you need to do it on your own.  You will feel that connection within yourself.  The program lasts for one month but the transformation will go with you long afterward.  Inside the program you get the four lessons and also one on one time with me to help you implement the systems taught so that you can really DO them.  It’s not about what you’re learning, it’s about who you’re BECOMING in the process.  I love the connection I make with the women in the program and watch them find who they really are again.  For me, it’s the best part of what I get to do.  I hope you’ll join me.  You can register for Uniquee Connection at Hunkeedori.com or click on the link in the show notes and description of this episode.

__________

Today, I wanted to share with you the way I listen to a lot of songs, but especially love songs.

Not all of them because I have a guy that I love A LOT, so I listen to them with his face in my thoughts too.

But, I wanted to share a little twist on how you can listen to songs that you like.

What if you listened to them as if they were about how you feel about yourself?

Kind of a mind-blowing thought huh!

I want to share one of the songs I do this with when I’m running.

I’m out there running to take care of my physical and emotional health, so it makes sense to me that I’m thinking about loving myself better as I’m doing it.

The song is “Someone to you” by the Banners

I’ll play you a little clip.  Just directly from my phone, so it’s not the best quality.  But as you listen, think about how you could be singing that to yourself.

Lyrics

I don’t wanna die or fade away
I just wanna be someone
I just wanna be someone

Dive and disappear without a trace
I just wanna be someone
Well, doesn’t everyone?
And if you feel the great dividing
I wanna be the one you’re guiding
‘Cause I believe that you could lead the way

I just wanna be somebody to someone, oh
I wanna be somebody to someone, oh
I never had nobody and no road home
I wanna be somebody to someone

And if the sun starts setting, the sky goes cold
Then if the clouds get heavy and start to fall
I really need somebody to call my own
I wanna be somebody to someone
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you (someone to you)

I don’t even need to change the world (change, change the world)
I’ll make the moon shine just for your view
I’ll make the starlight circle the room (circle the room)
And if you feel like night is falling
I wanna be the one you’re calling
‘Cause I believe that you could lead the way

I just wanna be somebody to someone, oh (somebody)
I wanna be somebody to someone, oh
I never had nobody and no road home (I don’t have)
I wanna be somebody to someone (somebody)

And if the sun starts setting, the sky goes cold
Then if the clouds get heavy and start to fall
I really need somebody to call my own
I wanna be somebody to someone
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you

The kingdom come, the rise, the fall
The setting sun above it all
I just wanna be somebody to you

I just wanna be somebody to someone, oh
I wanna be somebody to someone, oh
I never had nobody and no road home
I wanna be somebody to someone

And if the sun starts setting, the sky goes cold
Then if the clouds get heavy and start to fall
I really need somebody to call my own
I wanna be somebody to someone
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you

What if you were someone to yourself?

What if you were there for yourself and had your own back, no matter what?

Do you know how I learned to do that for myself?

Journaling, or as I like to call it, Free-writing.

When I sit down and write out my thoughts, my feelings, I begin to see how I am thinking.

Sometimes it’s spot on.

Sometimes, I’m off.

The things I’m telling myself aren’t always what I want to believe, what I really believe.

We do that sometimes.

Our brains try to make whatever we’re believing into reality and it’s not always what’s best for us.  Our brain is trying to protect us from something that’s different than our normal or out of our comfort zone.

That’s how we grow, so we’re not always in need of protection.

When I see it written out in front of me, it’s like a wake-up call and I can show up for myself better.

I can give myself love and support to do the hard things that I need to grow.

I want to be someone for ME.

I want to show up for ME.

I want to believe in ME and what I’m capable of.

I want that for you too.

So Be Someone to you!

Try listening to songs differently.

Listen to the lyrics and see how you can use them to show up for you.

Have them be your hype song!

During the month of August, I’m going to be focusing on the final, but in my opinion, the most important of the three pillars of creating a uniquee connection.  Connection with SELF.  There are many ways to connect with your true self, but it begins with discovering who that true self is.

I hope today’s episode has helped you find a new way to discover your true self and love her better.

Then, take that love to show up for your people even better!!

Thanks for joining me here today and remember:

I see you.  I understand how hard you’re trying, and I’d like to help however I can.

Have a wonderful day and I’ll see you back here next week.
